brandstrom stockholm, run by Andreas Brändström, is international in scope and focuses on work by established and emerging artists.
The gallery opened in 1993 and has exhibited artists such as Isaac Julien, Olafur Eliasson, Tracey Emin, Spencer Finch, Carl Michael von Hausswolff, Jeppe Hein, Henrik Håkansson, Clay Ketter, Jim Shaw, Sam Taylor Wood, Cory Arcangel, Marnie Weber and Elin Wickström.
The goal of the gallery is to support Scandinavian artists in the international arena and to present international art to the Scandinavian market.
Since 1994 the gallery has participated in numerous international art fairs, including: Art Basel, Art Chicago, Art Cologne, Art Forum Berlin and The Armory NYC. In addition, brandstrom stockholm was one of the founders of the highly successful Smart Show Art Fair in Stockholm in the 1990s.
The gallery is located in central Stockholm in a former industrial building created by the high modernist architect Ragnar Östberg, most well known for designing the Stockholm City Hall. Our gallery which occupies 500 square meters of exhibition space was designed by architect Erik Andersson. |
